We drink tea
On Friday April 7th, Axxent Masters in Tea celebrated its 10th anniversary with family and friends.
The office at Avelingen West in Gorinchem was decorated as a eXXperience center. Guests were invited to enjoy delicious coffees from coffee roaster and barista Jasper Overdevest, Nordkapp Coffee and tea specials made by tea sommelier Ms. Cha, Linda Appelman. She created very special cocktails and long drinks from Rooibos, Lapsang Souchong, Earl Grey and Lemon Ginger based on teas from the premium brand of Axxent Thee Van Oordt,. In combination with the finger food of Cuhabo more than a surprising foodpairing.
The founders and owners of Axxent, Arnoud Francken and Marcel Vogel, presented a TOP 10 of highlights. They told with passion about the development of the company, the introduction of various brands such as Tea of Life, T'amore and Sunleaf and recent projects in Sri Lanka with their own Fair-grounds Foundation. Funny detail is that they started the TOP 10 with number 11. A different and creative opening, so characteristic for their unique and successful market approach.
During the evening four employees of Axxent were introduced as the Fair-grounds Running team. They run the Rotterdam Marathon in relay form on April 9th. Especially for this purpose they had set up a sponsor program, with the aim to build a new child nursery on a tea estate in Sri Lanka. Proudly they presented a check to the board of the Foundation with the incredible amount of € 7.592, -. And they did so in special Tea Shirts with the applicable text "With this tea-shirt I have an origin".
Highlight of the evening was the live performance by Arnoud Francken and Marcel Vogel with Nol Havens as "The Tea Lords". They performed their own song titled "I drink tea", a wink to the famous song "Cup of Coffee" of VOF de Kunst. Nol is the singer of this Dutch pop group which had great hits in the eighties. The clip of the song can be viewed via this LINK. The recording of the song was done in Studio Cube in Rossum with Arthur Theunissen as producer. Arnoud on piano and Marcel on solo/lead guitar recorded the track together with Nol. The song starts, after a moment of silence, with the recognizable sound of a tea machine.
